Women's Singles
In the last 32 of the Women’s Single’s Tonga ’s Eseta Vi was involved in a close match with Tahiti ’s Tearo Lecaill, eventually losing 9-11 in the sixth set. Tearo will now play New Caledonia ’s Alexandra Heraclide.

Somoa’s only player to progress from the group play Leilani Tamati went down 0- 4 to New Caledonia ’s Clara Jacquin.

Palau ’s Rimuu Watanabe won a tough seven set match with number one Kiribati women Atea Tetabo.

Kerry Mok eliminated Fiji ’s Alisi Ulacala four sets to zero.

The only Solomon Islands women to progress from group play Connie Sifi was knocked out by Fiji ’s Venetia Koi.

Last 16-
Number one seed, defender Priscilla Tommy played one of the danger players in the womens field Palau ’s unseeded Rimuu Watanabe.It was clear to all that Priscilla was off her normal game. As it turns out she has been having problems with her long pimpled rubber with one of the pimples coming off and she was forced to change to another type of rubber, she just managed to scrap through, winning the seventh set 11- 5.

Fiji ’s Shriti Jeet defeated New Caledonia ’s Ornella Bouteille 4-2

Kerry Mok was defeated by Tahiti ’s Cyrine Sam 4-1

Palau ’s Korang Watanabe  played Rachel Hsiao in one of the most exciting matches so far, she was down 3-2, and trailed in the sixth set before winning 11-9  and won the seventh set 11-5 with heavy support from a large group of Palau supporters.

Alexander Heraclide won in a tight seven set match against Tahiti ’s Tearo Lecaill.

Men’s Singles
Last 32 match, six time SPG veteran Norman Joe who played his first SPG in ‘83’  here in Samoa was involved in a 7 set match against yesterday’s  mixed doubles gold medalist, Tahiti’s fourteen year old Ocean Belrose. He led early in the seventh set but couldn’t hold on to the lead. Norman quote’ I would have played seven if it wasn’t for the coup in Fiji in 87, the younger guys are just to fast for me, I’m getting old now but I still give the younger guys a hard time, the game itself is getting to fast for me”

Samoan personality Frankie Cai was in a hard fought battle with Kiribati ’s Kevin Reo, saving a match point in the fifth set but lost in six close sets.

Young Tahitian player Tinihau-O-Terai Klouman defeated a disappointing Taati Barao and will now play first seed Fiji’s Wang Qi in the last sixteen.
