her normal game. As it turns out she has been having problems with her
long pimpled rubber with one of the pimples coming off and she was forced
to change to another type of rubber, she just managed to scrap through,
winning the seventh set 11- 5.

veteran Norman Joe who played his first
SPG
in ‘83’ here in Samoa was involved in a 7 set match against
yesterday’s mixed doubles gold medalist, Tahiti’s fourteen year
old Ocean Belrose. He led early in the seventh set but couldn’t hold on
to the lead. Norman quote’ I would have played seven if it wasn’t for
the coup in Fiji in 87, the younger guys are just to fast for me, I’m
getting old now but I still give the younger guys a hard time, the game
itself is getting to fast for me”
Samoan
personality Frankie Cai was in a hard fought battle with
Kiribati
’s Kevin Reo, saving a match point in the fifth set but lost in six
close sets.
Young
Tahitian player Tinihau-O-Terai Klouman defeated a disappointing Taati
Barao and will now play first seed Fiji’s Wang Qi in the last sixteen.
