Women's Team Event
Vanuatu only dropped one match and two sets as they defeated Fiji, to finish first in Pool 1

The 8-1 score line reflected a one sided contest and has given a clear message to Pool 2 runners – up and semi-finalist opponents New Caledonia that all the Vanuatu players are in good form.

Fiji will now meet Tahiti Nui in the other semi-final.

In other women’s result’s Kiribati ’s Atea Tetabo recorded a good win other Tongan number one Eseta Vi on the way to leading Kiribati to a 7-2 victory over Tonga .

In the match to decide 1st and 2nd in pool 2 New Caledonia ’s Alexandra Heraclide managed to win two matches despite having spend most of the day in bed  unwell with a flu virus. It was not enough to stop Tahiti Nui from winning the contest 7-2 with Melvin Richmond leading the way with three wins.

Newcomers to International table tennis American Samoa ended the round- robin stage with no victories but determined to go back home and improve for future events.

Men’s Team event
New Caledonia were to strong for the other Teams in Pool 1 and won all of their matches 9-0.  They go into the semi-final stage where they will play Fiji as the strong favourites.

Vanuatu finished second in Pool 1 and will play Tahiti Nui in the other semi-final match.

In the match to decide 1st and 2nd in Pool 2 Fiji and Tahiti Nui had a hard fought encounter with Tahiti – Ni going on to win 5-4. For Tahiti Alize Belrose won two matches, Tinihau-O-Terai Klouman won two and Jean-Philippe Lau won one match to take Tahiti to victory. Fiji ’s Wang Gi won three singles and Richel Sen won one. Veteran campaigner for Fiji Anthony Ho lost twice in five sets and again closely in his third match.
